About
The Writers Perspective site is dedicated to reviews of authors books, and interviews with authors, editors and publishers who work in the publishing business. The aim is to give readers of the site information about the books from the perspective of the people writing them.
We believe in two types of content for this website:
- Open and honest reviews on books
- Frank and unedited interviews with authors and publishing professionals
Who We Are
The Writers Perspective website is part of MCslp and is primarily run by Martin ‘MC’ Brown, a full time author and professional writer who is familiar with the perspective of a writer. Primarily because he is one. You can read more about MC and his experience at MCslp.com.
How We Operate
The website is entirely funded through the professional work of MCslp. There are no adverts. If you’d like to support MCslp then read our websites, articles, and buy our books.
We are not paid by publishers (although they do provide books for review). Nor are we paid, swayed or influenced by authors for the reviews and interviews posted here.
If you want to help support the website then please buy the books on the site through Amazon by clicking on the image of the book cover against each review or interview.
Alternatively, make a donation through PayPal using this button:
Information for Authors
If you want to have your book reviewed by us, please contact your publisher’s PR department. It is entirely possible I am already reading and reviewing and/or preparing interview questions for your book. If I’m not, your publisher will send me a copy. I read all books before reviewing or preparing questions. There are no exceptions.
Here is the advice I give to all authors when replying to interview questions:
Please answer at least eight questions if you can. The more you answer, the more depth and wisdom you can impart and hopefully the more people you can entice into buying your book.
Also remember that the questions are a mixture of: about the book, about the content of the book, about the topic and potentially about you. While I know that some of the answers to some of these questions are in the book, I’m also trying to get people to be interested in how you answer the questions to give a feel of the content, and therefore like the book and buy it.
Don’t feel pressured to answer a question if you don’t like it, although sometimes those questions can be the best to answer! If there is a question you would have liked to have been asked, but weren’t, please add the question and your corresponding answer.
If I have done a review of your book and you think that I’ve misunderstood or misrepresented your work then please contact me before posting a comment or berating me on other outlets. I will happily correct anything that I have misunderstood or simply got wrong.
Note that wherever possible you will be contacted when either a review or interview for one of your books is posted.
